WITHYMOOR TIGERS 1
Dylan Moorhouse (1)
Rowley Rhinos 9

This was a hugely disappointing result. Rowley had failed to win all season, but they looked miles ahead of us as they condemned us to a 7th straight defeat.

Everything looked good to start of with, as some slick passing led to our opening goal. However, we we're second best in terms of challenging, and Rowley got their equaliser. Poor team defending led to Rowley going 2-1 ahead soon after. We did manage to raise our game and had it not been for some bad luck, we would have been ahead at half time, but as it was, we went in 2-1 down.

Despite rallying the boys at half time, and with their voiced self belief that we could go on and win the game, the second half was a bewilderment to me! As a team, we failed to turn up, and allowed an average team to look like Brazil, as they ran rings around us. The competative challenging was poor, and despite creating the occassional forward passing move, we we sadly second best, as a number of players seemed to have forgotten what they have learnt over the years. All in all we ended up surrendering to a limp defeat, against a team who hadn't previously won a game!

I'll be honest boys! I'm extremely disappointed with this performance and result! I'm going back to the drawing board and will make some big changes in the new year. I'm pleased with the few positives that I got out of the game, but I feel that there were a number of players who simply didn't perform. We're now in a relegation battle and I'm looking for everyone to roll up their sleeves and fight for Withymoor Tigers FC!
